Chiều trời bảng
lảng bóng hoàng hôn,
Tiếng ốc xa

Gác mái, ngư

Gõ sừng, mục

Ngàn mai gió cuốn

An
Afternoon At A Travelling Inn
by
Wife of Head of Thanh Quan District
The evening sky fades
in with the dusk that is approaching
The distant horn’s
echoes mixed with the guard station’s drum rolling.
Putting away the
oar’s blade, the fisherman goes back to distant home,
Knocking at the
ox’s horns, the herdsman comes to the village alone.
In sweeping winds,
lone birds pass thousands of ochna plants tiringly,
Under falling dew,
a traveller strides through miles of willow trees quickly.
One is in the boudoir
comfortably, the other, at a travelling inn, lonely,
With whom can one
share the conversations after long separation joyfully?
